coordinated cultural programme organized by Prabal Pramaniks academy of Arts at
Budge Budge, Kolkata
Sunday 30th March 2014 a comprehensive and coordinated "cultural evening" was
organized at Budge Budge Public Library Hall by Prabal Pramaniks Academy of Arts and
M/s Orient Book Company.
The cultural programme featured an exhibition of art works by children of different age
groups. Many of the participants came from different art schools.
In addition to the art exhibition, a musical programme was also arranged at the hall.
The children were pleased and excited to participate in the exposition and their parents
and friends came to attend the show with the children.
Senior artist Shri Tulsi Das presided over the show. Shri Sankhyajit Jana, the convenor of
the programme expressed his pleasure about this programme and appreciated the efforts put
in by our team members.
At this programme Sm. Manjula Choudhuri, Sm. Mausumi Bagchi, Shri Sanjeev Malakar, Sm.
Suranjana Das, Sm. Piyali Mishra and Sm. Soumi Das presented songs from "Hridi Rasa
Dhare" a book of lyrics by Prabal Pramanik. The instrumental accompaniment was
presented by Shri Bikash Adhikari and Shri Subir Ghosh.
Sm. Manjula Choudhury and Sm. Mausumi Bagchi was specially honoured by the organizers.
The children who participated in the exhibition were given participation certificates. The
vocal musicians and the instrument players were given mementos on behalf of the Academy.
On 1st of Baisakh 15th April 2014 the New year of
Bengali New year the third exhibition Prabal Pramaniks Academy Art club was held at
Barnaparichaya Book Mall in Kolkata.

and Shri Kashi Nath Koley were displayed. Photographs of Prof. Bindia Gupta, Shri Gautam
Mullick and Shri Pratap Kumer Mondal were displayed also.
On this occasion "Alorpathey Hriday Matey" a Bengali book of lyrics by Prabal
Pramanik was launched. The function was presided over by Dr. Subimalendu Bikash Sinha, the
Ex-principal of Indian Art College.
Graphic prints of water colours by Prabal Pramanik were displayed at the exhibition too.

exhibition of art works and live demonstration of paper cutting art was held at Kalyani
Art Gallery at Prabal Pramaniks Academy of Arts in Bhamlada on June 2014.
Visitors came from West Bengal and enjoyed the show at the gallery.
On this occasion "Alor Pathey Hriday Mate" a Bengali book of lyrics by Prabal
Pramanik was released at the gallery.
The poet recited Bengali poems from the book and the audience from Bengal greatly
appreciated the spiritual poems from "Alor Pathey Hriday Mate".

cultural function featured an exhibition of Devasthanakala paper cutting art works, a
workshop of paper lace cutting and drawing by Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik and a shadow
puppet show. The programme was held at Uday Memorial Public School, Dunera for the school
children. Some of the parents of the children also attended the show.
Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik gave live demonstrations of his paper cutting art to the
school children and the teachers of the school too.
Many of the children made beautiful paper lace cutting designs at the workshop. The
children who attended the workshop were tought to make a basic freehand paper cutting form
in addition to paper lace cutting.
The children attending the workshop were tought a basic drawing form also.
The exhibition of Devasthanakala paper cutting art was greatly appreciated at this
The shadow puppet show featured the dance of Ganesha and the dance of Shiva.
Many of the children enjoyed a shadow puppet show for the first time in their lives.
Mr. Suresh Pathania, the Principal of Uday Memorial public School was especially helpful
in organizing this cultural programme.
Prabal Pramaniks Academy of Arts takes a
major step in promoting cultural development on a global scale.
On 4th July 2014 a
group of French artists and art lovers came to Prabal Pramaniks Academy of Arts and
stayed at some guest houses in Bhamlada to attend an exhibition of art and to take part in
two day seminar that is likely to have far reaching impact in the cultural world, not only
in the regional aspect but also on the global scale.
The seminar with definite progressive motive was arranged after the Academy was
informed by e-mail by the group of French people that they are planning to visit Prabal
Pramaniks Academy of Arts.
The group leader Youri Bellanger is an old friend of Prabal Pramanik and had visited
the Academy several times before, but this visit was different indeed as this visit was
not of just casual tourists who come to see the gallery.
Recently Prabal Pramaniks Academy of Arts has taken up comprehensive project
for development through cultural activities and the seminars were planned to spread out
the project by incorporating like minded people on a global scale.
The agenda for the seminar included aspects for future cooperation in cultural events
and cultural tourism. Special importance was given for the development of regional
handicrafts to create better work opportunities for the local people who are connected
with the Academy.
Organizing workshops on art on international scale was also decided upon and further
cultural exchange programes have been planned in near future.
The group of people from France included artist, ceramic expert and film maker who
has been making documentary films in different countries.
Youri Bellager was the leader of the French delegates and was accompanied by Karine
Lane, Sylie Bellanger, Pierre Bellanger, Micheline Gosse, Eliote Lane, Jean Luc Blandin
and Herve Schmoor.
The French delegates greatly appreciated the artworks of Prabal Pramanik and the live
demonstration of paper cutting art by Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik too. They also enjoyed
the French translation of Prabal Pramaniks book on Paris. They also made an indepth
documentary on Prabal Pramanik.
On 6th August Prabal Pramaniks Academy of
Arts celebrated "Jhulan", a festival of Krishna by holding an exposition on
Radha Krishna at Kalyani Art Gallery at the Academy complex at Bhamlada.
On this occasion a portfolio of reproductions of Devasthanakala art
works by Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik was launched by Shri Narsinghalal Agnihotri. The
portfolio features art works on "Geeta Govinda" by the great poet Jaideva

Pramaniks Academy of Arts celebrated the Festival of Navaratri at Kalyani Art
Gallery at the Academy complex at Bhamlada.
An exhibition of Devasthanakala paper cutting art works by Ustad
Kalakar Prabal Pramanik was held at the art gallery. Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik gave
live demonstration in the gallery. Many students from Shri Satya Sai Vidya Mandir attended
Devraj Baba gave flute presentation at the show too. On 3rd October 2014 a shadow puppet
show on Mahishsura Mardini Durga was presented to the visitors.
Visitors from Kolkata enjoyed this festival as well as the visitors from this Locality.

Suresh Pathania gave an interesting speech on the need of art as a subject in school
Tejendra Agnihotri presented a song recital in Punjabi and Devraj Baba played the flute to
add a musical touch to the programme.
On 29th of October Students from Shri Satya Sai Vidya Mandir and Vevekensh Vidyalaya
visited the art gallery. Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik gave a talk on art and presented a
live demonstration of his paper cutting art to the students.
The students showed interest in the art plates printed by the Academy and also in the
books published by the academy. A movie produced by the Academy titled "An Artist in
Bhamlada" was screened on 29th October too.
Spreading Cultural consciousness in rural area.
Prabal Pramaniks Academy of Arts celebrated
"Childrens Day" at Bhamlada by organizing a workshop of drawing for school
students and by holding an exhibition of drawings by Prabal Pramanik on 14th November
The workshop was conducted by Prabal Pramanik and was attended by students from Maharana
Pratap Adarsha Vidyalaya, Vevekensh Vidyalaya and Shri Satya Sai Vidya Mandir. The
students were tought to draw in steps ranging from simple to more complicated.
The exhibition of drawings by Prabal Pramanik featured pen and ink drawings of diverse
subjects. Landscapes, town scapes, still life, portraits and animal studies featured in
the show. The programme was enjoyed by several local people as well as from Pathankot and
