WORKSHOP ORGANIZED BY ACADEMY
From 21st to 25th May 2007 a visual art workshop was conducted at Bhamlada
by Prabal Pramanik's Academy of Arts. Indian artists as well as British artists
participated in the workshop.
"A workshop was organised recently by the Prabal Pramaniks Academy of Arts,
Bhamlada, Punjab. The aim of this workshop was to promote international understanding
through art, and to bring artists face to face for exchanging views on art. It was held in
the lap of nature and helped in strengthening the relationship between nature and art. The
participants included Prof. Ishwar Dayal, Prabhinder Lall, Sawan, Ashwani Sharma, K.
Kumar, Pardeep Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Pardeep Kumar, Arup Chandra and Prabal Pramanik
himself. Two artists from UK, David Roe and Ruairidh Wilkinson, also took part. The art
works made included sketches, experimental work in free forms: and portraits in acrylic
and pencil. Among the movies shown to the participants were Between two
Horizons, Reflection Sur Paris, Haveli in Sands of Time,
Looking at my world of paper and animations. All the movies were made by the
academy. Discussions were held on various aspects of creativity and many of the
participants exchanged their views on forming a global art world. An exhibition of art
works by Pramanik was also put up." The Tribune, 4th June 2007
